How to Choose Jhumkas for Your Outfit

A jhumka is the one earring that works with almost everything Indian. The trick is matching it to the outfit, not the occasion.

Start with the neckline

A high neck or a heavy dupatta wants a smaller, lighter jhumka. An open neck can take a bigger bell.

Then the colour

Pick one colour from the outfit and echo it, or choose a colour the outfit does not have. Red against ivory, blue against cream and green against warm neutrals all work. If the outfit is already loud, go for a simpler jhumka.

Check the weight

A jhumka that looks perfect can still drag at the ear by evening. Choose a lighter build for long days, and save the heavier, more detailed pairs for the occasions where you will be sitting for most of it.

Hair matters

Wear your hair back and the bell is the first thing people see. Wear it down and the jhumka peeks out.

Browse the jhumkas and chandbalis collection. Each is hand-finished and made in a small run, so when you find your pair, it will not be on everyone else.
