Which Earrings Go With Which Lehenga Neckline

The neckline decides the earring more than the colour does. Here is the short version.

Sweetheart or deep V. There is a lot of open space, so the earring can be big. A full chandelier or a large chandbali fills the space without a necklace.

Round or boat neck. These frame the collarbone. A medium jhumka works well, especially with your hair up.

High neck or collar. The neck is already busy. Go long and narrow: a drop earring or a slim chandelier that falls straight down rather than wide.

Off-shoulder. Earrings are the only jewellery near the face, so go for one statement pair and nothing else.

With a heavy necklace. Choose a smaller stud or a small jhumka so the two do not fight.

One rule for all of them: one statement piece per look. If the lehenga is heavily worked, choose a quieter earring.
